October Fun For the Locals…If You’re A Tourist, Come See The Restless Natives!

The summer crowds have dissipated and the locals are coming out of hiding. October brings more fun in the sun to make up for our 2010 June gloom. Après has events tailored to the locals – bargain wines to extend summer earnings to snow season, a beer tasting with Todd Poth, masquerade parties, and more.  Live like a local and enjoy Tahoe’s Indian Summer.

October 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31, 5pm – Sunday Sippers Wine Tasting at Après Wine Company – Every Sunday at 5pm come to our fun, casual wine tasting. Each week a different theme is featured! No rezzies required. ONLY $10.

October 5, 6pm – Bargains Under $20 (that taste expensive!), Tasting Tuesday at Après Wine Company – Bordeaux taste on a box wine budget? You can have your standards and drink well, too! October 12, 6pm – The Land Makes a Difference – “Terroir” and Wines of Place, Tasting Tuesday at Après Wine Company – The French monks learned that better wines came from specific vineyards due to the earth there (“terroir”). This Tuesday taste how amazingly different wines from the same grape varietals taste simply because of where they are from. $20 advance, $25 at door. Includes five wines and appetizer pairings. October 19, 6pm – Southern Hemisphere Bargains, Tasting Tuesday at Après Wine Company – Argentineans, Chileans, Aussies and New Zealanders are making fine wines at bargain prices and many are organic, biodynamic or sustainable. October 21, 6pm – A Beer Tasting with Todd Poth!

Celebrate Oktoberfest at Apres Wine Company Thursday, 10/21 at 6pm.  You may recognize our expert host for the evening, Todd Poth. What you may not know about Todd…he ran a brew pub in New Zealand, played semi-pro football in Germany (and learned much about beer while there) and was a sarong wearing scuba diving instructor in Southeast Asia (which, we’re told, added to his expansive beer knowlege – you’ll have to RSVP to learn more about that!). So join the gang at Après, throw back some brewskies, share a few laughs and learn a bit about beer with Todd.  $15 advance, $20 at door. October 26, 6pm – Masquerade, Part Deux, Tasting Tuesday at Après Wine Company – There’s still time to RSVP for our Halloween Masquerade Tasting Tuesday on October 26th starting at 6 pm. Sample our choice selection of blood red wines…and we’ll have white wines to satisfy our Casper-clad ghouls. Save $5 on the tasting fee by coming in costume!
